Mould Remediation

Mould is always caused by excessive moisture in the indoor environment. This excessive moisture can be due to any of the following reasons:

1. Water ingress

Water will come from any of the following sources - burst pipe, flood, over flow in a bathroom or laundry. Water ingress leading to mould growth can also invade a built environment if external walls have a lack of waterproofing but this is not generally responsible for an outbreak of mould growth.

2. Lack of ventilation

If a dwelling lacks adequate ventilation, then the moisture created through everyday occurrences like washing, drying clothes, breathing, cooking becomes trapped in the building. Once it is trapped the moisture will come into contact with mould spores and result in mould growth.

This is very common in wet areas like bathrooms, laundries and kitchens which are susceptible to mould problems. This moisture commonly manifests itself as condensation. Accordingly, both the cause of the excessive moisture and the end result of the excessive moisture need to be treated at the same time, if the end goal is to permanently rid the building of mould and condensation. Our services include air purification, extracting excess humidity in the indoor environment, removal of visible and air borne mould as well as air conditioning cleaning to ensure your home is free of mould spores.

Our remediation process focuses on identifying the cause of the problem and providing restoration recommendations to find a permanent solution for our valued customers' home and property. We offer a professional service and years of experience to ensure you get the best possible results. The general overview of our Mould Remediation process includes;

1. Inspection -

T

he initial mould inspection will reveal the visible mould growth, the level of mould spores and the reasons for the mould generation. From the initial inspection we can determine the correct action to rid the property of both the causes of the mould generation and the mould generation itself.

2. Cleaning -

The mould cleaning process involves cleaning of the affected areas and of areas that may not be accessible by hand. This focuses on the physical removal of visible mould inside the property. Secondly, we also search and eradicate the source of mould growth. This is done to prevent the mould from being generated again.

. Drying -

After the initial cleaning process, the property is dried using artificial heat which also aids evaporation along with dehumidification, artificial ventilation and air movement.

4. Ventilating -

Once the drying process is complete, ventilation should be added to ensure that mould generation does not occur again. This is done both by informing the residents about the need of ventilation, and by installing or repairing already existing ventilation systems. Lastly, our team will provide you insights into how you can avoid mould in the future. We show you where potential leaks and risk areas are as well as ways that you can increase ventilation to keep your house free from mould in the future.
